45 nm Yorkfield aren't supported by nvidia's 680i.

Asus (or 680i OEM) does not officially support Yorkfield although some have got it running in 2Core mode; i.e. disabling core 2/3
Some are holding out for the Wolfdale BIOS update in some faint hope that it may work
Having said that I would be curious to see a 4-Core operational Yorkfield on a 680i and as Ben_J said, proof please

Engineering samples work fine but Intel changed something in between ES and Retail/OEM which is why they don't work.

Asus 775 boards seems to have wide support of the upcoming 45 nm chips. Even the lowly p5b vanilla supports the new dual and quad core since bios 1803!

I have also seen the step-up program listed on their website.
For $100.00 I am not sure that it is worth it.
Don't get me wrong I like my 680 but $130 for the 680 + $100 for the bump up to 780i (not to mention shipping time).
I think there is something like 30 days left to take advantage of the offer.
