It will work.
I had my 6000+ and now my 9850 cooled with the apogee gt (the cpu block in the picture).

is this one comparable , this is my 1st build with water cooling..

If all your cooling is the 5000+ ive noticed it doesnt take too much to keep them cool.I put the 120 compact on my 5000+ be at 3.2 and i havent seen it go over 28 degrees(read with software how accurate i dunno was mid 40's with scythe ninja and upgraded fan)I would have liked a bigger kit but my case is too small though
