This has been in the works now every since I started my PSU thread and I apologize it has been so long in coming. I have been very busy and haven't have the time for it.

Anyways, what you see above is the wattages for ALL modern graphics cards from ATI and Nvidia. I have compiled this with information from numerous sources as well as my own testing (with a 7600GT, X1900GT, and 7900GTX). Many websites list the wattages required for the WHOLE SYSTEM but this is a compilation of the power requirements of only the graphics card.

These wattages are for the stock version of each card and not any overclocked version.

I am posting this here for your comments so I can have some feedback before posting them in my PSU sticky. Please feel free to launch your constructive criticism my way so I can make these a good reference for everyone.

Remember: If you want to find out how many Amps these will take on your +12V rail use the following:

Watts / 12 = Amps

Stay tuned as well for charts for CPUs and other components as well.

Critique away!!!

This is excellent. Can you post the wattages used in dual (and quad) card configurations?

Hmmm....good link. If you want, I can add the older cards to my charts as well.

I just didn't want them too cluttered.

If you want but from everything I see, when two cards are working at full load, it is twice the power of a single card running at full load.

very nice sky, we are forever in your debt +5

, interestingly enough, the 8800gts out performs the (insert here what ever nvidia card uses almost as much power as the GTX) so if you are power conciuos that seems like the best power/performance

So, do you guys think I sould add the 6800 and X800 series to that?

If you look at the two charts as a whole, ATI's is MUCH higher overall than Nvidia's. It doesn't bode well for the R600....

Hitler was good for a while, history is just biased against him.

But yes, power consumption of the r600 scares me, or so far it does, not that ive actually seen specs for it

I think you should add the 6800Ultra, and x850XT PE, just for reference.

+5 Great post SKYMTL!

It's nice to see a compiled listing of these numbers. When I had problems with my 7900 last year I heard so many differing opinions that I was going insane thinking the problem was my PSU.

It's great to be able to compare differing cards. Thanks for this.

Add them in if you want. I just think it is somewhat redundant to have them in your post as well as malakin's.

But, you know, us computer people like redundancy in some things....

I'll add the 6XXX series from Nvidia and the 8XX series from ATI. I'll use the list provided in another link in this topic.
